The 7.O Abra Earthquake of July 2022

We traveled with a couple of priests to The town of Tayum upriver from Bangued earlier this week. Tayum was the epicenter of a large 7.0 earthquake in July if 2022  that has devastated so many communities around Abra. The church above, which we visited in 2018 is heavily damaged but still stands. These old churches are tough. Built in 1803 it is one of 25 churches in the Philippines that are listed as national cultural treasures. Hopefully the government comes through and helps to restore this national treasure
