To Save Everything, Click Here: The Folly of Technological Solutionism by Evgeny MorozovMorozov's cynicism is a refreshing counterpoint to the innumerable books and writings overflowing with optimism about the glorious future that technology will continue to bring. He pokes holes in the conclusions of many boosters of the perfect future whom I have enjoyed reading recently. He urges us to look to the future and at "technological solutionism" with a more critical eye, questioning the very assumptions we often take for granted. His wit can be both humorous and annoying as he uses it to eviscerate ideas he doesn't agree with. Although the subject matter is compelling, Morozov's snarky writing style weakens the point he is trying to make. Interesting read...more to come.
