New David Brown Tractor

This tractor speaks with a decided British accent and sports a "bonnet" over the engine instead of a "hood". As Winston Churchill once said: "Britain and America are two nations divided by a common language". Sadly, tractors are no longer manufactured in Britain, making this machine one of the last of an age.

Several years ago, I purchased a little larger David Brown for a farm I worked on. The manual was full of a distinct UK style of English that made it almost fun to read. This tractor was among the last of a long line of UK made tractors that are no more. It will be interesting to learn more about it and it's transatlantic history.

A little summer project will be to get this David Brown 885 G running again. This little tractor was one of the last manufactured before David Brown tractors became Case IH in the early 70's. Fortunately, there are numbers of David Brown enthusiasts online that have clubs, websites, forums and blogs. I've joined the UK based David Brown Tractor Club , which offers a wealth of information on everything David Brown. There is even a page on the 885
