Old Encyclopedia Britannica Maps

The print encyclopedia has already become an ananchronism of an earlier age. The many volumes that I spent my youth serendipitously reading for hours on end are no longer useful in a connected age. Most now sit virtually unused on the library shelves, looking good, but basically just gathering dust. The interactive online encyclopedia is far superior in many ways, with the exception that 100 years from now I won't be able to post public domain maps from it like from this 1911 Britannica.
