Below is a video of an old McCormick Daisy Reaper (pictured above) from YouTube. These machines were manufactured by McCormick (and after the 1902 merger) International Harvester, from the 1890's right up to the sunset of horse agriculture in the 1930's. I remember an anecdote about these being manufactured in places like Argentina well into the 50's. McCormick and then International Harvester were real pioneering multinationals long before it was fashionable.

It is an awesome machine to behold, although those "headbangers" come pretty close and would are a little unerving to an operator. I wonder how many farmers were knocked off a machine by a broken paddle?
