Magazine about Magazines

I resubscribed to the Utne Reader after a several year hiatus. The magazine has a left-wing, social activist, fringe culture focus that appeals to the blue stater in me. It includes articles and excerpts gleaned from across the broad magazine spectrum.It is a bit of a Reader's Digest for the socially engaged and cautiously cynical.
The Utne staff is great at gleaning important and innovative stories from the mass of media noise that confronts us every day. It is a great source to keep up with important things that are happening outside the mainstream culture.
